Energeo have launched a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform designed to enable energy and climate stakeholders to better understand the impact widespread adoption of low carbon technologies will have on low voltage (LV) grid infrastructure. The platform has been developed utilising near real-time LV network data from Western Power Distribution, and utilises Energeo's geospatially derived intelligence on beneficial locations for technologies such as Solar and Electric Vehicle chargepoints.
"Accelerated adoption of renewable energy technology is absolutely necessary if we're to achieve the climate goals set out by the UN, and our own Government bodies" said Ian Dee, Energeo CEO. "However, many of these technologies export excess generation back to the grid, or require power themselves in order to operate effectively and efficiently. This means additional pressure on an already constrained power network. Our software enables stakeholders to model future scenarios for low carbon technology deployment and instantly see what impact this would have on local grid infrastructure under current or historic network conditions".
As well as grid impact Energeo's platform also enables users to rapidly identify the overall cost of technology installation, potential energy savings and the reduction in Co2 possible. Energeo will run a series of webinars in early 2020 to showcase the capability and functionality of the platform, and will also be demonstrating the software live at a number of conferences and seminars.
